Position Summary:
Aegis Aerospace is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Network Boundary Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. This position is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of enterprise network perimeter infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on security and reliability. The role requires a thorough understanding of routing protocols, firewall infrastructure, and network performance at the edge.

Position Summary:
Aegis Aerospace is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Network Boundary Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. This position is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of enterprise network perimeter infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on security and reliability. The role requires a thorough understanding of routing protocols, firewall infrastructure, and network performance at the edge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain network perimeter infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other network devices
- Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
- Plan, configure, and maintain firewall infrastructure
- Monitor network performance and identify improvements at the perimeter
- Troubleshoot perimeter-related network issues and implement timely resolutions
- Implement and enforce network security policies and procedures
- Manage and maintain PKI infrastructure
- Ensure network compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Collaborate across IT teams to support application and service delivery
- Document network configurations, changes, and procedures
- Support operations in secure or classified environments as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a US citizen
- Must have an active DoD Secret clearance
- Minimum 5 years of experience in enterprise routing and switching
- Minimum 3 years of experience with firewall planning, configuration, and maintenance
- Proficiency with the OSI model and IP protocol stack
- Hands-on experience with BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP in environments using Netscalers, Cisco, Citrix, and Firepower
- Must hold a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP)
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls
- Familiarity with load balancers such as NetScaler or F5
- Strong knowledge of PKI infrastructure and DNS
- Understanding of web application behavior and traffic patterns
- Knowledge of security, audit, and compliance best practices
Compensation:
- Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000 annually. Final compensation is based on experience, education, and directly relevant certifications.
