Position Summary:
Aegis Aerospace is seeking a Solutions Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) under the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. This role directly supports the Missile Defense Space Enterprise Architecture (MDSEA) organization and is responsible for developing innovative IT solutions, supporting architectural designs, and assisting with cloud modernization efforts. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in container platforms, cloud architecture, and infrastructure-as-code practices.

Position Summary:
Aegis Aerospace is seeking a Solutions Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) under the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. This role directly supports the Missile Defense Space Enterprise Architecture (MDSEA) organization and is responsible for developing innovative IT solutions, supporting architectural designs, and assisting with cloud modernization efforts. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in container platforms, cloud architecture, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop new IT solutions and assist with implementation and integration
- Support project initiation and task management, contributing to the Technical Baseline
- Assist with cloud governance and drive cloud-native modernization initiatives
- Administer container platforms including OpenShift, Docker, and Podman
- Maintain image repositories and container registries
- Participate in high-level system architecture and design for secure, scalable cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or hybrid)
- Develop infrastructure-as-code (IaC) templates (e.g., ARM, Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, DevSecOps, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure compliance and alignment
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a US citizen
- Must have an active DoD Secret clearance
- Minimum of 4 years of directly related experience
- Documented experience developing and editing DoDAF (Department of Defense Architecture Framework) products
- Direct experience with virtualization platforms such as OpenShift or VMware
- Proven ability to decompose complex IT systems into manageable components
- Demonstrated critical thinking and troubleshooting skills in IT system dependencies and sustainability
Desired Qualifications:
Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a STEM-related field
Compensation:
- Salary Range: $115,000 - $160,000 annually. Final compensation is based on experience, education, and directly relevant certifications.
