Position Summary:
Aegis Aerospace is seeking a Linux System Administrator Functional Lead to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) under the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. This position involves managing Linux-based systems for the Missile Defense Space Center, overseeing system security compliance, and mentoring a team of administrators. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Red Hat environments, container platforms, and leadership in system administration practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, troubleshoot, and maintain Linux-based physical and virtual machines
• Administer container platforms including OpenShift, Docker, and Podman
• Manage and maintain multiple image repositories and registries
• Ensure operating system hardening and STIG compliance
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, DevSecOps, infrastructure, and application teams
• Manage and delegate tasks derived from project, sustainment, and break/fix sources
• Lead and mentor a team in performing system software installations, break/fix, and cybersecurity mitigations
• Develop and maintain baseline configuration documentation and system administration procedures
• Create, upgrade, manage, and sustain physical and virtual workstations

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be a US citizen
• Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher
• Minimum of 5 years of direct experience with UNIX and/or Linux systems administration
• Must have, or obtain within 60 days of hire, a computing environment Linux certification
• Must have, or obtain within 60 days of hire, a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+)

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology or any STEM-related field
• Experience administering Red Hat Linux environments

Compensation:

• Salary Range: $130,000 - $170,000 annually. Final compensation is based on experience, education, and directly relevant certifications.
