Staff Accountant - Part Time

CyberCore is seeking a part-time Staff Accountant to assist with the month-end close process and handling daily transactions. This role requires the ability to take action or escalate issues when necessary, encourage the team through positive communication and feedback, and coordinate and backfill team members' work when needed.

Job Responsibilities :

• Assist entire month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Conduct thorough reconciliations of balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data
• Monitor and account for prepaid and deferred expenses, ensuring they are recorded accurately
• Maintain fixed asset records and calculate depreciation and amortization expenses in compliance with company policies and accounting standard
• Provide assistance with annual audits
• Identify and analyze financial issues, risks, and opportunities within the organization.
• Provide clear and concise reports and recommendations to the VP of Finance to support decision-making
• Prepare accurate sales and use tax returns on a timely basis. Assist with other state tax filings and compliance requirements as needed.
• Review and assess department processes and procedures.
• Design and implement innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Required Skills

• 3+ years of experience as an Accounting or related field
• High School Diploma

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field is preferred.
• Must have experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) experience
• Experience with General Ledger and Advanced Microsoft Excel
• Proficiency with Deltek Costpoint is highly desired.
• Working knowledge Cognos or similar ERP software applications
• CPA certification is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, meeting deadlines, and problem solving

The salary range for this role is $45,000 - $50,000. This range is a good faith estimate that reflects various experience levels. This range is not a guarantee of salary, as final compensation may also be influenced by contractual requirements and other considerations.
