Tyto Athene is searching for a Senior Network Administrator to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida.
The Senior Network Administrator is responsible for architecting, securing, and maintaining robust and scalable enterprise network environments in support of USSOUTHCOM's missions-critical operations. This role requires expertise in Cisco and Aruba technologies, enforcement of Zero Trust security, privileged access control (CyberArk), and lifecycle infrastructure planning. The ideal candidate will lead technical initiatives, ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies, and mentor junior staff.

Tyto Athene is searching for a Senior Network Administrator to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida.
The Senior Network Administrator is responsible for architecting, securing, and maintaining robust and scalable enterprise network environments in support of USSOUTHCOM's missions-critical operations. This role requires expertise in Cisco and Aruba technologies, enforcement of Zero Trust security, privileged access control (CyberArk), and lifecycle infrastructure planning. The ideal candidate will lead technical initiatives, ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies, and mentor junior staff.
Responsibilities:
- Lead design and implementation of secure, scalable network infrastructure including Cisco core routing/switching and Aruba wireless networks
- Provide expert recommendations for Lifecycle Replacement strategies and plan future-state network enhancements
- Architect and maintain enterprise-wide 802.1X enforcement, CyberArk access policies, and integration with Thunderdome Zero Trust framework
- Oversee VPNs, firewalls, VLANs, site-to-site secure communications, and RMF-compliant operations
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption plans
- Execute lifecycle management of network infrastructure, align operations with risk mitigation, cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and continuity of operations strategies
- Provide Tier-3 support for escalated network issues and wireless performance tuning
- Mentor junior network admins and conduct design and implementation reviews
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or related field
- 10+ years of professional experience in network administration or engineering roles
- Proven hands-on experience with Cisco, Aruba, and enterprise networking hardware
- Strong understanding and implementation experience with: 1X, Aruba ClearPass, and CyberArk r outing and switching protocols, f irewalls, VPNs, and VLAN segmentation
- Ability to architect, implement, and maintain secure, DoD-compliant networks
- Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture and frameworks such as Thunderdome
- Ability to provide Lifecycle Replacement recommendations and long-term infrastructure planning
Desired:
- Master's degree in Information Systems or related field
- Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
- CISSP
- Aruba certifications (e.g., ACMP, ACMX)
- ITIL v4 Foundation or higher
- Experience with classified network environments, RMF, and STIG compliance
- Experience leading teams or mentoring junior network administrators
Clearance:
- TS/SCI clearance required
Certification:
- DoD 8570 Baseline & CE certifications are required for all positions and may vary slightly depending on the skillset required to perform the role
- CompTIA Security+ CE
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
