Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facility Manager to support operations at Ft. Belvoir and the National Capital Region (NCR). The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in facility management with a proven track record in overseeing daily operations, maintenance programs, contract management, and facility-related projects. An active TS/SCI security clearance is required.

This role is essential in ensuring that all assigned facilities function efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all applicable regulations. The Facility Manager will collaborate with government stakeholders, vendors, contractors, and building occupants to maintain optimal conditions across the facilities portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement facility management policies and standard operating procedures.
• Oversee the daily operations of facilities, including systems, infrastructure, and common areas.
• Manage facility service contracts (e.g., janitorial, security, landscaping) and monitor contractor performance.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Coordinate with Directorate of Public Works (DPW) to manage preventive maintenance programs.
• Schedule, prioritize, and oversee repair and maintenance work orders.
• Conduct space planning and manage efficient space utilization across assigned buildings.
• Plan and coordinate office moves, renovations, and reconfigurations.
• Lead facility-related projects from planning through execution, ensuring timelines, budgets, and compliance standards are met.
• Liaise with architects, engineers, and construction teams on design and upgrade initiatives.
• Develop and maintain emergency preparedness plans and coordinate response efforts.
• Conduct safety drills and training to maintain readiness.
• Maintain detailed records related to facility operations, maintenance logs, and compliance documents.
• Prepare and present regular reports on facility performance, costs, and improvement plans to senior leadership.

Qualifications:

• Active TS/SCI clearance is required.
• Proven experience in facility management, ideally within a government or DoD environment.
• Strong understanding of building systems, maintenance operations, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to manage multiple service contracts and vendor relationships.
• Experience with space planning, construction project oversight, and emergency preparedness.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance tools and software is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Work Environment:

This position is primarily located at Ft. Belvoir with potential responsibilities across other National Capital Region (NCR) sites. Candidates must be able to work on-site and respond to emergency situations during and outside of normal business hours.
