Apex Systems has an urgent need for a Maritime Project Manager in Norfolk, VA! This will be a 6 Month contract to permanent hire position supporting one of our Largest Government Clients on the East Coast. Please see below for details.
Job Title: Maritime Project Manager
Location: Norfolk, VA
Duration: 6 month contract to permanent hire
Compensation: $55 - $65/hour W2 depending on level of experience
Requirements:
• Maritime Project Manager experience
Job Description:
• Thoroughly read and interpret job specifications, blue prints, and manuals associated with the work package as provided by the customer.
• Receive and update production schedules on a weekly basis to support ongoing work.
• Chair and organize production meetings with trade supervisors as required to update progress and determine areas of concern.
• Represent the company at Customer production meeting and thoroughly explain the progress of each item and discuss ongoing issues and resolutions required to improve performance.
• Have daily discussions with supervision to determine manpower needs to support production efforts and assure that these needs are met and that each trade remains on or ahead of schedule.
• Notify the Production Manager or Waterfront Ops Director when problems cannot be resolved and discussions are needed to find solutions to ongoing issues.
• Visually track progress of all work items on a daily basis by accomplishing job site inspections in unison with trade supervision.
• Provide daily progress updates to the Production Manager or Waterfront Ops Director
• Notify the production department of any unsafe work practice or unsatisfactory quality assurance issues and recommendations for improvements.
• Monitor job cost reports from labor and material charges to ensure accuracy and labor hours are charged correctly.
• Assure that CFR’s are being written by the production department or sub-contractors as required to support job specifications and to report conditions found and recommendations for repairs to be accomplished.
• Coordinate between Q.A. and production to assure that T&I sheets are being utilized and up to date as required by the job specifications.
• Assure that all material and equipment has been requisitioned, purchased and expedited for deliver to support the production schedule.
• Enforce the use of safety equipment by tradesmen (and all personnel in the work areas) at all times.
