JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a Network Engineer to work on the Army Global Unified Network (AGUN) – Increment 1 (INC1) program. The Army’s Global Enterprise Network Modernization – OCONUS (GENM-O) is a critical mission provider responsible for keeping the Army connected through global network modernization projects. A successful candidate should have proven ability to lead, problem solve and deliver superior results as part of a high performing team in a fast-paced environment. On this program, you will have the opportunity to build advanced network security systems and software utilizing cloud capabilities in support of this complex program.
Based in DevOps framework, you will participate in and/or direct the development of major deliverables
throughout all aspects of solution development lifecycle including scope and work estimation, architecture and
design, coding, unit testing, and operations network services.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, plan and build network systems using the newest technologies and methods
Conduct hardware and software analyses for use in designs
Develop designs, engineering implementation plans, migration plans, diagrams and associated
documentation
Directs tasks of team members, reviews work packages developed by team members for quality control
and consistency with design requirements
Analyzes survey and discovery data to support the preparation of designs and migration activities
Analyze network firewalls / VPNs and additional security tools and support the development of
migration plans to move tenants to the new AGUN enterprise environment.
Configures systems and hardware for deployment and implementation activities
Provides guidance and oversight to assigned team members
Support occasional evening and nighttime service outage windows as well as troubleshooting efforts in
the event there is an outage caused by project network changes.
Assist with support and operations where necessary.
Execute changes to an active production network using approved methodologies.
Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned and evaluate new technologies as
directed
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree and 4 – 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 – 6 years of related
experience. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Active Security clearance preferred at hire, but will be required for program onboarding

Advanced knowledge and experience working with BGP, MPLS, in-depth protocol analysis with tcpdump
Hands-on experience with complex architectures and enterprise information systems to include
Enterprise level network (WAN) engineering experience in: Routing, Design, Configuration, Traffic
Shaping with Policy based routing or Route-maps troubleshooting and support of mid to large sized
network environments.
Experience working with and managing OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, BGP Policy based routing, Quality of Service
(QoS), IGMP Multicasting, VPNs, ACLs, MPLS, IP, NAT.
Experience working with LAN technologies to include VLANs, VRFs, Port-channels and VPCs.
Working knowledge of OEM platforms (e.g. Cisco, Juniper, Arista and Aruba)
Advanced networking certifications preferred (e.g. CCNA/CCNP/CCIE, JNCIA/JNCIS/JCNIP)
Excellent problem solving, analytical skills and technical troubleshooting skills.
Ability to have a holistic view of service network development and deployment architecture.
