Electrical Component Engineer – Aerospace / Defense
We’re seeking an experienced Electrical Component Engineer to support electrical component standards and processes in a high-reliability aerospace and defense environment. This role focuses on evaluating, qualifying, and supporting electronic components used across aircraft and weapons systems, both for new development and legacy programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate and select electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical components for repair/design activities and new product development.
Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure components meet Boeing and contract-specific requirements.
Recommend alternate electrical components based on system requirements and compatibility with aircraft and weapons platforms.
Use project management tools to meet cost, schedule, and technical goals with minimal supervision.
Apply Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), LEAN, and Quality principles to materials, processes, testing, and documentation.
Assist in defining work strategies, developing work statements, and providing technical consultation to internal teams.
Interpret and apply military and industry specifications for component qualification and usage.
Required Experience:
Familiarity with military/aerospace specifications and environments.
Hands-on experience with connectors, wires, cables, harnesses, and related fabrication/installation.
Electrical design or test experience with components, wiring harnesses, connectors, and cables.
Background in military aerospace (defense contractor or prior military), particularly in Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS).
Practical knowledge of electrical military specifications (Mil-Specs) and aerospace industry standards.
Working knowledge of part selection, standards/specifications, and component qualification processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working at Boeing or on Boeing programs.
Former military service in a relevant technical field.
