Job Description

*** Active Secret Clearance Required ***

The Carpenter performs the carpentry duties necessary to maintain in good repair building woodwork and equipment such as bins, cribs, counters, benches, partitions, doors. Work involves most of the following:
• Examines blueprints and determines dimensions of structure. Layout and construct light gauge metal framing.
• Hang, tape, finish and sand new drywall.
• Layout and install acoustical ceiling grid. Install acoustical ceiling tile.
• Install ceramic title.
• Other duties as assigned

Basic Job Requirements

• A combination of education and directly related experience equal to eight (8) years*; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements

Other Job Requirements

• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or vocational program for a journeyman carpenter with eight (8) years of experience in trade and building maintenance.
• Must have knowledge of PM programs.
• Possess practical knowledge of repairs, installation of floor and ceiling tile, walls (plaster, block, drywall), masonry work, locksmithing, cabinet making, framing, form work and general knowledge of the painting trade.
• Must be able to operate small power tools and machinery as required.
• Must read blueprints and perform material take-offs from prints.
• Must possess leadership skills.
• Must possess the skills and attitudes to effectively communicate with the customer and subordinates.
• Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
• A willingness to work rotational shift if necessary, including days, evenings, and nights as well as overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Possess an active Secret clearance or higher.
