We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Mk21A team in Valley Forge, PA.
In this role you will:
• Support the mechanical design team by performing tasks such as design, and development support for aerospace structures and generate detailed design of primary and secondary structures.
• Create CAD models, interface drawings, and detailed build-to-print drawings, release drawings/models to engineering configuration control vault, and perform varied tasks with direction from a senior lead engineer
• Research, plan, design and develop mechanical and/or electro-mechanical systems for flight as well as ground systems
• Participate in issue resolution, developing solutions to technical problems of varying complexity while assuring sound technical content and timely closure.
Basic Qualifications:
• Experience with creating 3D designs in CREO or equivalent CAD software
• Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering Principals
• Familiar with Requirements development
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance
Desired Skills:
• Knowledge of drafting techniques and manufacturing processes
• Knowledge of Mechanical Design Principles including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Knowledge of mechanical modeling and analysis tools, such as CREO, Nastran, Thermal Desktop, NX
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Desire to work with propulsion, structures, mechanisms, thermal, analysis and all things Lockheed Martin Space!
• Additive manufacturing or 3D printing experience
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
