Kearney & Company is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Consultant to support high-level Air Force budget execution, analysis, and financial operations. This role is responsible for managing complex budgeting activities across multiple appropriations, supporting planning and execution processes, and ensuring compliance with fiscal law and federal financial management policy. The consultant will work closely with stakeholders across the Department of the Air Force, including coordination with MAJCOMs, DFAS, and other DoD entities. The position emphasizes real-time financial analysis, audit readiness, and leveraging innovative tools such as Advana, Power BI, and PowerApps to streamline reporting and improve resource visibility. Additional responsibilities include supporting budget drills (e.g., initial distribution, mid-year review, and closeout), canceled year funds analysis, resolving funds control interface issues, and responding to senior-level financial inquiries. This is a primarily on-site position at the Pentagon and requires work in classified environments, including SIPRNet.

The expected salary range for this position is between $103,000 and $180,000. This range is representative of base pay only and does not include straight time pay for hours worked over 40 per week, company contributions towards paid benefits, and/or bonuses. Actual compensation (meeting or exceeding the range) will be determined based on specific experience, education, work location, clearance level, and other factors permitted by law. This position is eligible for bonuses (when applicable).

Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in Air Force budget formulation, execution, or financial analysis at the command or headquarters level
- Bachelors Degree in a relevant field
- Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale budgets and support planning, execution, and reporting cycles
- Strong working knowledge of Air Force financial systems such as DEAMS, FM Suite, CRIS, PBES, and GAFS
- Experience operating in classified environments, including use of SIPRNet
- In-depth understanding of Title 10 and Title 31 statutes, including the Anti-Deficiency Act, Bona Fide Needs Rule, and Prompt Payment Act
- Familiarity with DoD FMR 7000.14-R and OMB Circular A-11
- Proven experience supporting canceled year funds analysis and ensuring compliance with fiscal law
- Experience responding to complex budget inquiries and coordinating data for high-level reviews
- Ability to support Air Force budget drills (e.g., initial distribution, mid-year review, closeout, and OOC reviews)
- Working knowledge of funds control processes and resolving interface issues related to commitments, obligations, and disbursements
- Prior experience supporting Headquarters-level Air Force or DoD financial organizations
- Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in audit readiness or audit remediation aligned with FFMIA and the CFO Act
- Experience delivering or developing training related to Air Force financial systems, audit procedures, or budgeting processes
- Certification such as CDFM, CGFM, CPA, or Lean Six Sigma
- Experience supporting continuous process improvement initiatives within a financial or operational environment
