Northrop Grumman Australia partners with the Royal Australian Air Force to provide through-life support for its fleet of C-27J Spartan Airlifter aircraft . The C-27J complements the Australian Defence Force's existing Air Mobility fleet and provides airlift of people, equipment and supplies to support Humanitarian Disaster Relief and crisis response in Australia and nearby regions.

Your Role

As the Aircrew Publications Technical Writer, you will draft, develop, and maintain the full suite of C-27J Spartan aircrew publications to support safe and effective aircrew operations. This includes but is not limited to:

• Ensure all amendments to aircrew publications are technically endorsed by relevant authorities before release.
• Act as a liaison between NGA Engineering, HQ Air Mobility Group, and 35 Squadron Aircrew Standards on all proposed changes to publications.
• Provide in-service support to the RAAF regarding the interpretation and application of C-27J aircrew publications.
• Maintain compliance with applicable management plans, documentation standards, and Defence work instructions.

About You

• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
• Exceptional written English skills - you write clearly, precisely, and with correct grammar.
• Able to translate technical procedures into accessible, procedural documentation.
• Confident in creating structured, intelligible content for operational use.
• Knowledge of civil and Defence aviation regulations, with the ability to interpret and apply them appropriately.
• Analytical mindset - you're comfortable researching new concepts, evaluating data, and synthesising information.
• Some working knowledge of aviation systems including airframes, turbo-prop engines, and avionics.
• Organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently as well as in a team environment.
