Location: Fairfax, VA Area - Hybrid with 2 days onsite- 3 days remote (local to DMV)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Clearance Level: Top Secret Required
Years of Experience: 5 plus years of experience
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Certification: Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+).
Salary: $110,000-$160,000

We are seeking a skilled and security-conscious Cloud Engineer to support the design, deployment, and maintenance of cloud-based infrastructure and applications in a mission-critical environment. This role requires hands-on experience with AWS services, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and secure DevOps practices. The ideal candidate will hold an active Security+ certification and be comfortable working in high-pressure, agile environments supporting U.S. Government and DoD initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure, scalable cloud architectures using AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, and VPC.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform, Ansible, and AWS CloudFormation.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Git, Jenkins, and GitLab.
- Write and maintain Python scripts for automation (e.g., AWS Lambda functions).
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize cloud environments for reliability and cost-efficiency.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with DoD security standards and RMF controls.
- Support containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and security controls.

- 5+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, including operations, design, and development of cloud-native applications
- 3+ years of experience with AWS (preferred), Azure, or other cloud platforms.
- Active CompTIA Security+ certification (DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliant)
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
- Familiarity with Linux environments and Git-based workflows.
- Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices.

- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional or AWS Certified Security - Specialty.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and container orchestration in secure environments.
- Familiarity with DISA STIGs, Iron Bank containers, and DoD DevSecOps pipelines.
- Experience with air-gapped or hybrid cloud environments.
