Cloud Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Cloud Engineer with a Top Secret Security Clearance to join a National Defense Contract located in Ft Belvoir, VA through 100% full onsite presence . The Cloud Engineer will focus on cybersecurity solutions using AWS cloud architecture, designing and implementing secure infrastructures, troubleshooting networking and security challenges, and collaborating with government stakeholders to optimize cybersecurity strategies.

Responsibilities of the Cloud Engineer include:

• Design and implement secure cloud architecture by developing and maintaining AWS based cybersecurity solutions
• Configure and manage VPCs, subnets, IAM roles, security groups, and AWS networking components for optimized performance
• Utilize tools like CloudTrail to monitor security events, conduct audits, and respond to potential threats within the cloud environment
• Implement automation using Terraform, Ansible, and Python to streamline deployments, reduce manual workloads, and enhance security
• Work directly with stakeholders to analyze requirements, troubleshoot technical issues, and develop cybersecurity solutions
• Maintain detailed documentation of cloud configurations, security policies, and best practices while staying up to date o emerging AWS technologies

Qualifications of the Cloud Engineer include:

• 5-10+ years of experience in cloud engineering and cybersecurity solutions
• Experience managing software development projects and delivering software solutions
• Strong experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) - configuring and managing VPCs, subnets, IAM roles, and security groups
• Experience with CloudTrail
• Experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, and/or Python
• Experience with Department of Energy (DOE) - federal or civilian
• Active Top Secret Security Clearance

Compensation for the Cloud Engineer includes:

• Salary Range: $150,000-170,000 **depending on experience**
