ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Configuration Management Database Engineer (CMDB) to join our team in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area.
The successful candidate manages and optimizes the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). They are responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and relevance of CMDB data, which is crucial for incident, problem, and change management processes. This role often involves working with ServiceNow and other IT asset management (ITAM) and configuration management tools

The successful candidate manages and optimizes the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). They are responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and relevance of CMDB data, which is crucial for incident, problem, and change management processes. This role often involves working with ServiceNow and other IT asset management (ITAM) and configuration management tools
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Experience with ServiceNow and especially the ServiceNow CMDB module and optimizing its use and integration with the other ServiceNow modules and capabilities
- Develop, implement, manage, and track the CMDB, the processes, key decision processes and documentation to facilitate the accuracy and completeness of the CMDB
- Train personnel on the CMDB processes, ensures compliance with the process and documentation requirements and provides reports to stakeholders
- Oversee the Program CMDB management system, ensuring its proper functioning, security, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify CMDB needs and requirements; provide guidance and support in implementing appropriate solutions
- Collaborate and work with other functional areas to conduct scans, reconcile data and information, and analyze outputs; develop, provide, and brief stakeholders on CMDB and other related information; provide at least monthly updates and others as requested
- Collaborate with the Knowledge Manager regarding document retention schedules and policies to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements; manage, oversee, and conduct regular audits of the KM system to identify and address any issues or gaps of required CMDB artifacts
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field
- 8+ years of relevant experience
- ITIL preferably ITIL4
- Proficient working in a Microsoft Windows environment and using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Information Technology Asset Management system and/or ServiceNow experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- ITIL4
- ServiceNow certification
Clearance Requirements:
- Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
- The ability to obtain and maintain a DHS EOD suitability is required prior to starting this position.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Travel may be required.
