Program Overview

Supports the transformation and modernization of legacy Coast Guard systems and services including mobility, messaging, ITSM, ITAM, Network Infrastructure, and legacy data systems from on premise implementations to cloud and hybrid cloud solutions. New system and service implementations, including zero trust architecture, to provide leading edge systems that are both secure and accessible.

About The Role

Network Engineer - Peraton (Hybrid: Alexandria, VA / Kearneysville, WV)

As part of Peraton's DHS Infrastructure Managed Services (IMS) Program supporting the U.S. Coast Guard, you will contribute to the modernization and consolidation of critical network infrastructure. Your primary responsibility is to migrate configurations from legacy routers and switches to upgraded Cisco devices, ensuring seamless deployment and out-of-the-box functionality at field units.

Key competencies include:

  • Advanced configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco routers and switches
  • Expertise in VLANs, BGP, OSPF, and command-line interface (CLI)
  • Proficiency with Cisco Prime Infrastructure (CPI) and Cisco DNA Center (DNAC)
  • Implementation of DISA STIGs and foundational understanding of Zero Trust architecture within the DoD framework

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience, or High School Diploma/equivalent with 9 years of experience
  • U.S. Citizenship with Active Secret Clearance required
  • Proficient in Cisco WAN/LAN technologies
  • Strong knowledge of BGP and OSPF routing protocols
  • Experience with Riverbed hardware and performance reporting
  • Solid understanding of Cisco firewall configurations
  • IAT Level II certification
  • Cisco CCNA certification or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Blue Ridge routers
  • Familiarity with DISA Thunderdome WAN environment
  • Experience managing Palo Alto firewalls

SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details

Target Salary Range: $66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
