Job Summary:
The Network Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and scalable IP network infrastructures. This role requires a collaborative team player who can also operate independently, contributing to integrated technical teams. Key responsibilities include configuring, maintaining, and optimizing network hardware, software, and virtualized components to support mission-critical operations.
Job Duties:
* Design, maintain, and optimize IP network hardware, software, and virtualized components.
* Assess existing network technologies to enhance performance, security, and efficiency, ensuring controlled data sharing and transmission.
* Collaborate with network engineers, administrators, and technical teams to configure, evaluate, and refine network performance.
* Develop and implement network architecture considering bandwidth, infrastructure, and security requirements.
* Identify and provide solutions within bandwidth constraints while assessing near-term and long-term capacity needs.
* Create and maintain engineering documentation, supporting O&M systems, patching, upgrades, security hardening, and corrective actions.
* Configure and optimize network hubs, routers, and switches for seamless operation.
* Establish network backup and recovery procedures.
* Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues.
* Expand and modify network infrastructure to improve workflow and accommodate new requirements.
* Implement system design, test procedures, and quality standards.
* Develop project plans for new infrastructure deployments or design modifications for engineering teams.
* Install and maintain network devices and operating system software.
* Continuously monitor network performance to ensure operational continuity.
* Patch vulnerabilities to safeguard data against external threats.
* Provide strategic feedback on network architecture and infrastructure improvements.
* Deliver advanced Tier II and III technical support.
* Repair network connectivity issues while testing and maintaining software and hardware components.
Required Qualifications:
* Must be a U.S. citizen with at least an Interim Secret clearance
* Ability to obtain IAT-II certification within 90 days of hire
* Ability to obtain CCNP certification within 6 months of hire
* Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) preferred but not required
* Minimum 5 years of experience as a Network Engineer
* Proficient in analyzing network traffic capacity and performance metrics
* Experience with hardware-based network security components and protection mechanisms
* Expertise in developing, testing, and executing network contingency and recovery plans
* Skilled in establishing and managing routing schemas
* Strong background in network security implementation, maintenance, and enhancement
* Experience with installing, configuring, and troubleshooting LAN/WAN components, including routers, hubs, and switches
Compensation:
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position offers a salary range of 110,000.00-125,000.00.
