HOW A SERVICE DESK TECHNICIAN WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
- Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems
- Collaborate with a small team of administrators both locally and remotely to resolve a variety of customer issues
- Interact with customers to accurately record requests and submit detailed change request to configuration management
- Travel to local customer sites to troubleshoot and resolve issues with end user devices
- Responsible for interacting with customers, creating customer requests, actioning tickets for customers.
- Common customer issues include account creation, username and password resets, imaging and troubleshoot workstations, troubleshooting Cisco endpoints (VoIP/VTC), file share rights and permissions, end-point connectivity issues, troubleshoot printer issues.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Education: Must have technical certification that meets DoDD 8570 IAT Level II requirement (i.e. CompTIA Security + or equivalent)
- Required Experience: 3+ years of related experience in Service Desk/Systems Administration
- Required Certification: Security + CE cert. (DOD 8140 or 8570 certs)
- Required Technical Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Experience with Active Directory Tools, Familiarity with fiber optic cables.
- Must have experience with Microsoft Windows Active Directory tools
- Required Skills and Abilities: Self-starter, willingness to learn, ability to interface with customers
- Preferred Skills: Windows computing environment certification (i.e. Microsoft Windows Server 2019 or later)
- Location: 100% at Customer Site in Newington, VA at Fort Belvoir.
- US Citizenship Required due to the TS/SCI clearance requirement.
- Required clearance: Current/active TS/SCI clearance required w/ ability to obtain CI Poly
