HOW A NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Currently under the Global Enterprise Fabric (GEF) contract. The GEF Network Team currently provides 24/7 administration to over 340 network devices, in five regions throughout the world. Management of these devices are accomplished in four independent networks to include Classified and Unclassified.
- Responsible for Operating and Managing (O&M) switches. Duties include, shutting down, starting up and configuring switches. Also, in charge for maintaining Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) to DoD standards and troubleshooting.
- Additional administration services provided to the following systems, Cisco Identity Service Engine (ISE), Cisco F5, Cisco Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller (NDFC) and Spectrum. O&M of these systems are the same as duties listed above.
- Execute Assigned Service Interruptions (ASIs) for maintenance and/or upgrades. Responsible for configurations, troubleshooting and documentation during and after ASI. Submit and brief After Action Reports (AAR) and properly report status to management and stake holders.
- Responsible for creating, editing and resolving Incident tickets using Service NOW for both Classified and Unclassified taskings.
- Review and verify documentations (RFC, DCAB, VM Requirements, Handoffs) submitted by Change Management and/or customers for modifications to devices.
- Properly escalate and assist with additional technical support (higher level TIER assistance). Collaborate with Regional Network Enterprise Centers (RNEC), Global Cyber Centers (GCC), Operations & Engineering Department (OED) and vendors to troubleshoot complex networking issues.
- Create and brief After Action Reports (AAR) to management in the event of failed maintenance checks or upgrades.
- Verify documentations related to GEF Network; to include Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Technical Training Procedures (TTP) and Build Guides.
- Submit changes or updates on documentation to OED for revisions.
- Assist OED with lessons learned when implementing new documentation.
- Create and submit Weekly Action Reports (WAR) to management on tasks worked on or completed.
- Train and mentor new personnel on shift responsibilities.
