Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Semiconductor Equipment Manager for our Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) - located outside of Baltimore, Maryland - where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production customers as well as emerging technology programs. Northrop Grumman's ATL semiconductor foundry is a unique capability supporting a range of production microelectronic devices (Silicon, Gallium Arsenide, Gallium Nitride, Silicon Carbide, Carbon Nanotubes) and providing leading edge technology development in superconducting electronics. Our devices enable a number of Northrop Grumman's ground based radars, avionic radars, and space systems. The chosen candidate will be managing 2nd Shift union represented Semiconductor Equipment Technicians and will be responsible for directing, planning, and managing the work of said technicians. The Semiconductor Equipment Manager is responsible for the supervision of represented employees working in a semiconductor manufacturing environment. 2nd shift work is Monday- Friday 3:00PM- 12:00AM.

Responsibilities include:
  • Provide direction and guidance to employees utilizing management guidelines and general policies
  • Involved in staffing decisions, training, and driving engagement efforts to achieve the employee's highest potential
  • Provide management with progress reports of parts inventory and service
  • Work independently across the organization to meet Fab needs and goals
  • Maintain a safe work environment.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience; Master's Degree with 3 years of experience; PhD with 0 years of experience (Note: 9+ years of work experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
  • Experience in Equipment Maintenance
  • Proven demonstrated leadership skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must work 2nd shift (Monday- Friday 3:00PM- 12:00AM)
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in engineering, EET, Mechatronics, business, or other technical area with 2 years of experience supervising/people management including planning and scheduling workflow
  • Experience in Semiconductor Equipment Maintenance
  • Working knowledge of industry and management methodologies focused on continuous improvement in manufacturing, such as SPC, 5S, Total Quality Management or Six Sigma
  • Experienced in ISO 9001 or AS9100 Audits and Requirements Knowledgeable of Industrial Hazardous Waste Management procedures
  • Experience managing people preferred


Salary Range: $112,600.00 - $169,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
