Work you'll do
The Sustainment Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex operational software systems. These software systems and their sustainment may involve developing or updating analytics, algorithms, scripts, data processing, procedures, documentation, security features, metrics collection, reporting functions, or any other aspect of maintaining operations of operational systems. Works (individually or as part of a team. Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results. Investigates and resolves software 'problem reports. Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment and consistent with CMS' DevOps objectives. Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the- shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $102,750 to $171,250.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.

- Provide software and database architecture, design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and overall Life Cycle Support (LCS) to sustain and modernize Financial, HR, Workforce Security, and Learning Management PeopleSoft(TM) applications.
- Review and test software components for adherence to the design requirements and document test results.
- Investigate and resolve software 'problem reports.
- Utilize software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment and consistent with CMS' DevOps objectives

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance
- Must be willing to work onsite five days/week
- 3+ years Experience with Software Development/Engineering
- Ability to travel 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
Preferred:
- Experience with Jira
- Experience with PeopleSoft HRMS Portal Pack
- Experience with PeopleSoft Modules Functional Testing
- Experience with SQL (Structured Query Language)
