Aegis Aerospace is currently looking for a Spacecraft Camera Systems Engineer to join our team in Houston.
Aegis Aerospace is in support of the NASA Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) program. As such, Aegis is providing support to the spacecraft development, assembly, integration and test (AIT) as well as payload integration. We are looking for an experienced System Engineer to lead our team in the development and implementation of spacecraft camera systems on lunar lander vehicles that will enable the exploration of space. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems engineering, experience with NASA processes, and excellent communication skills.
This position will manage system engineering activities for the lunar lander vehicle camera system. The candidate will manage the engineering flight project schedule, procurement documentation, budget, and system requirements documents for the flight camera system. They will manage and develop the requirements and ICD between the camera system and the spacecraft. They will develop and support sub-project requirement and verification data packages to support architecture requirements, design, verification/validation, operations, and sustaining engineering. They will conduct and coordinate integration, verification, and validation activities. Additionally, they will work with ground testing and flight operations testing of hardware with end item documentation.

- Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering and normally possess 5 - 10 years of related experience
- 10 years' of relevant experience in systems engineering* Knowledge and understanding of SE&I processes, methodologies, tools, and technologies including model based systems engineering* Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings*
- Knowledge of Flight Hardware and/or Flight Processes/Paperwork
- Knowledge and experience with DOORS Next Generation
Job responsibilities
- Support the Aegis Aerospace as an Aerospace Space Craft Camera Engineer on the Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) contract
- Integrate the camera system with the vehicle systems to ensure flawless operations
- Create, review, and implement camera system documentation supporting the design, fabrication, assembly, test, and transportation of one-of-a-kind, highly specialized space hardware.
- Review and understand spacecraft buildup, assembly/ integration/test (AIT) and launch vehicle contractor processes, work orders, and procedures
- Evaluate, formulate, and present at Aegis' Review Board any camera systems concerns that affect the designated mission
- Provide guidance and expertise for spacecraft integration, ground support equipment, and other launch vehicle, payload, and spacecraft activities associated with the camera system
- Perform interface control document (ICD) verifications
