Aegis Aerospace is currently looking for a Payload Integration Manager to join our team in Houston.
Aegis is seeking an experienced engineer to manage payload integration for our lunar lander program. This person ideally has systems, integration, test, and launch experience, specific to aerospace hardware. The successful candidate will leverage their advanced communication and relationship skills to interface with all engineering disciplines at Aegis involved in the development of a lunar lander as well as with outside organizations like the USAF, NASA, NOAA, and a variety of commercial customers.
POSITION OVERVIEW
A Payload Integration Manager for a spacecraft manages all aspects of integrating payloads into a spacecraft, ensuring safe and reliable operation. This role involves coordinating requirements, managing the integration process, and collaborating with various teams to ensure successful mission outcomes
RESPONSIBILITIES
Define, document, and manage payload integration requirements, considering safety, performance, and mission objectives.
Develop and execute integration plans, timelines, and budgets for payload integration activities.
Coordinate with spacecraft developers, payload developers, and launch service providers to ensure compatibility and interoperability.
Plan and conduct integration testing to verify the payload's functionality and compatibility with the spacecraft.
Identify and resolve integration-related issues, ensuring timely resolution to avoid delays or impact on mission goals.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of integration activities, including requirements, test results, and configuration information.
Facilitate communication and collaboration among all stakeholders, ensuring alignment and cooperation.
Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks associated with payload integration.
Manage activities related to payload processing, transportation, and launch vehicle integration at the launch site.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Must have US Citizenship.
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering or related field
- 5+ years' experience in the aerospace industry
- Experience integrating payloads or spacecraft
- Experience working as the primary interface with an external aerospace customer or internal product team
- Basic working knowledge of aerospace qualification and acceptance testing defined by GEVS.
- Basic working knowledge of AFSPCMAN 91-710, MIL-STD-882, RCC-319-14 and NASA Standards 8719.13.
- Excellent communications skills (written and oral). Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings to peers, management, and external customers.
- Experience with executing technical projects.
- Experienced technical problem solver.
- Motivated self-starter willing to take initiative.
- Ability to occasionally travel
- Ability to attain and maintain respect and confidence of the customer and contract personnel. A close, cooperative customer interface is essential.
- Reliable and dependable work habits and the dedication to get the job done.
Desired
- Experience working on government contracts.
- Experience interfacing with government customers.
- Prior experience with the NASA or DOD flight hardware process
- Experience with deployment mechanisms or with robotics and actuators for spacecraft
- Experience working with vendors
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
