Overview
Native American Industrial Solutions (NAIS) is seeking a highly skilled and mission-focused Systems Engineer to support a federal contract. This contingent position requires direct involvement in the full System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), working alongside senior IT leaders, engineering teams, and government stakeholders to design, develop, and sustain secure, high-performance systems in a classified environment.

The ideal candidate will bring expert-level technical knowledge, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to lead through complexity. Emphasis is placed on system integration, testing, and continuous engineering support within secure DoD spaces. The role requires an active SECRET clearance and a commitment to delivering robust, compliant solutions aligned with critical federal operational goals.

This position is contingent upon contract award. A minimum of a SECRET clearance is required for this role.

The Systems Engineer (SE) shall have expert knowledge of all elements of the System Development Life Cycle, including:

System Definition
Development
Design
Analysis & Control
Integration
Testing
The SE must demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical skills, the ability to lead through ambiguity in a fast-paced environment, and the capacity to establish confidence and credibility with managers and senior IT leaders. Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster open communications within teams are essential.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
B.S. Degree
M.S. Degree or equivalent work experience
Defense Acquisition University Level III Systems Engineering Certified (Preferred)
MCP or MCSE with Hyper-V Certification or experience
Qualification under the Cyberspace Workforce Qualification and Management Program (DODM 8140.03, Attachment J-02) and Identification, Tracking, and Reporting of Cyberspace Workforce Requirements (DODI 8140.02, Attachment J-03) for Advanced Systems Developer (632), or current equivalent in the case of superseded DOD issuance
The SE shall have experience in the following areas:
Build automation and scripted configuration of MS Windows-based environments
Requirements Analysis
Functional Analysis & Allocation
Design Synthesis
Developmental Testing
Operational Testing
Conducting & Leading Technical Reviews
Strong interpersonal and leadership communication skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate as part of a team
Hands-on experience with:
Microsoft Hyper-V
Microsoft Windows 10 LTSC
Microsoft Outlook and Office Suite
Microsoft Exchange and Server (2016)
Microsoft Exchange and Windows Server 2008 R2 (preferred)
Security Clearance Requirement:
A minimum of a SECRET clearance is required. The MCEL and the MNOC(s), along with communication spaces onboard ships, are secure storage spaces that require SECRET-level security clearances to access. An interim SECRET clearance is acceptable while the final clearance is being processed.

System Engineers will be required to perform tasking in multiple Military Sealift Command (MSC) secure spaces and ships. This includes classified system development, testing, deployment, and In-Service Engineering Activity (ISEA). Access to the MCEL, MNOC, and shipboard environments is required continuously during daily tasking.

Additional Information:
This is a contingent hire, and employment is dependent on NAIS being awarded the contract.
All candidates must be U.S. citizens and hold an active Secret Clearance at time of application.
