JOB SUMMARY:
We have an opening for a Jr. Network Administrator at Hill AFB. As a Network Administrator, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, monitoring, and configuring networks while also working with SATCOM equipment and dealing with VHF, UHF, and HF in troubleshooting capacities. The primary responsibility of this position is to troubleshoot layer 1-4 networking issues while also troubleshooting SATCOM specific problems.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conduct network and telecommunications system incident investigation.
• Analyze network and telecommunications alarms and identify potential issues.
• Configure, test, install, troubleshoot, and maintain network devices such as firewalls, cryptographic devices, and routers to optimize performance and ensure the desired security posture is attained and maintained.
• Configure, test, install, troubleshoot, and maintain network devices, phone systems, including phone units, voicemail, switches, infrastructure, call manager systems, Video Teleconference (VTC) systems video recording/viewing/distribution systems, and related telecommunications trunk circuits.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• 1-2 years of hands on networking experience dealing with Cisco routers/switches, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, RIP, RIPv2)
• Possess an active CompTIA Security+ Certification
• Able to work in a shift work environment as we are a 24/7 operation.
• Experience troubleshooting, configuring, maintaining, and monitoring networks and networking equipment in LAN/WAN environments
• Experience working with equipment such as Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Brocade
