Job Title: Harness Design Engineer
Job Location: Michigan 48310

Job Description:
Responsibilities to Anticipate for this role:
* Designing electrical wiring harnesses to include component selection for connectors, backshells, sleeving, braiding, sealants, boots, transitions, etc.
* Determining harness layout through vehicle and branch points for multi-branch harnesses
* Designing to environmental requirements for temperature, shock, vibration, submergence and exposure to harsh chemicals
* Designing harnesses in Capital Harness System (CHS) (aka Mentor Graphics) software, working specifically in Harness XC, Capital Logic and Capital Topology
Secondary Tasks:
* Working with CAD draftsman to route harnesses in 3D CAD tools (Pro-E and/or NX)
* Working with CAD draftsman to develop released drawings for harnesses, electrical installations, wiring diagrams, etc.
* Working with systems engineers to define whole vehicle pin-level interconnect
* Working with physical architects to define harness routing channels, space claims
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Sought:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a minimum of 7 years of relevant post graduate work.
* Ability to balance cost/schedule/technical priorities.
* Occasional overtime and weekend hours may be required to complete critical tasks.
* Experience with Microsoft Visio desirable.
* Experience with Capital Harness System (CHS) (aka Mentor Graphics) software, specifically in Harness XC, Capital Logic and Capital Topology is desirable.
* Experience with Pro-E Creo desirable.
* Experience with NX desirable.
* Basic proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
* Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to use Engineering Development and Test Tools.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with interdisciplinary teams.
* Strong multi-tasking skills.
* Strong record keeping skills.
* Must be able to obtain a security clearance if necessary.
* **This client is a US Federal Government contractor and is legally required to hire US Citizens. US Citizens will only be considered for this role.
* Due to the nature of the work, a United States Government Clearance is required to be eligible for the position**
