In this leadership role, you will guide clinical teams, liaise with federal leadership, and ensure high-quality, trauma-informed care in a dynamic and high-stakes environment.

What You'll Do
As a Lead Behavioral Health Specialist, you will provide clinical oversight, operational leadership, and strategic support to a team of Child Well-Being Specialists. You will be responsible for coordinating behavioral health services, managing escalated cases, and collaborating with DHS and partner agencies to deliver child-centered care.
Core Responsibilities
- Supervise and provide clinical leadership to Child Well-Being Specialists
- Act as the primary liaison between CBP leadership, DHS headquarters, and care teams
- Guide decision-making for complex and sensitive child well-being cases
- Manage staffing assignments, shift coverage, and surge support as needed
- Facilitate coordination with healthcare providers, NGOs, and government partners
- Oversee performance management, training, and team development
- Lead process improvements and contribute to policy and program design
This is a full-time, on-site leadership role with a flexible and responsive schedule:
- Daily commitment: 8 hours onsite + 4 hours on-call (as needed)
- Rotating coverage may include weekends, holidays, and night/week availability
- Must be able to return onsite during on-call hours if required
- Master's or Doctoral degree in a behavioral health field
- Active, unrestricted license as one of the following:
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW/LICSW)
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
- Licensed Psychologist (LP)
- Minimum 5 years of post-licensure experience in:
- Child development
- Trauma-informed care
- Clinical evaluation
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience in healthcare or social services
- Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred (minimum ILR 3/5 or equivalent)
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead in a fast-paced, evolving care environment
- Help protect and support vulnerable children in federal custody
