Job Summary:

The Electrical Engineer will provide on-site problem-solving skills in areas such as electronics and circuit theory to support REPD at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCAFS), Florida. Position requires a thinker/innovator who, when given a problem will brainstorm ideas, solicit input and when given approval to proceed will create solutions often as part of an integrated rapid prototyping team integrating computing, sensors, communications and programming to develop rapid prototype solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Work independently as well as part of a group.
  • Significant knowledge and demonstrated experience in designing and applying digital filters to incoming and outgoing signals, implementing filters in hardware and software, and making rapid judgments regarding the evaluation, design and creation of sensors and communication systems.
  • Process, exploit, analyze and report results from tests, demonstrations and evaluations to aid in determining sensor/system overall effectiveness.
  • Ability to create customized code to perform data harvesting, processing, exploitation and formatting. Includes ability to work code solutions which utilize data from multiple sites, sensors and/or data types.
  • Participates in trade studies to solve technical problems and identify preferred solutions.
  • Participates in technical reviews to assess project progress from design through development and delivery.
  • Serves as a team member on division wide, multidisciplinary efforts that involve critical IT issues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to accomplish the REPD mission.
  • Contact with the customer/provide customer support (may be internal or external customer).
  • Conduct some research to develop solutions to complex problems.


Requirements:
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must have an active Secret or higher clearance.
  • BA/BS + 9 or more years of experience.
  • Ability to read schematics, board layouts, data sheets, and have experience using debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and signal generators.
  • Work with existing software (both COTS and GOTS) tied to sensor packages and payloads to address complex integration activities to resolve software and hardware interoperability and compatibility challenges.
  • Strong understanding of the fundamentals of digital signal processing with a focus on radio frequency and software defined radios.
  • Comply with CCAFS industrial hygiene requirements.
  • Must be able to successfully work in a high tempo environment creating efficient, well documented and successful solutions resolving unique issues.
  • Working knowledge of industry standards in electronic design and fabrication
  • Good interpersonal skills as well as being an effective communicator.
  • Provide support to other company personnel, may provide support on special projects as needed.
  • Good writing skills, as there may be a requirement to write reports.
  • Degree of judgment and multi-tasking associated with performing job duties.
  • Successful background and drug screening check.


Preferred Requirements:
  • Master's degree and 4 or more years of experience.
  • System exploitation.
  • Ability to work in multiple programming languages including but not limited to C, C++, JAVA, Python, JavaScript, C#. Client/server programming on both ends. Graphical User Interface development. Embedded programming in Linux and Arduino/C.
  • Experience in reverse engineering hardware and software solutions.
