The Contract Manager is responsible for managing the full life cycle of government and defense-related contracts in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and company policy. This role is accountable for the to ensure and support proposal development, ensuring contractual compliance, managing contract modifications, and liaises between legal, finance, and program teams to ensure successful contract execution. The Contract Administrator contributes to risk mitigation, ensures contractual obligations are met, and plays a key role in audits and contract closeouts.
As a trust-based organization, this position is accountable for training other stakeholders (internal or external) about industry best practices as well as organization specific best practices. This is a publicly facing position that requires strong public speaking ability as well as teaching/instruction capability/desire.
General Qualifications
DoD/Contract Specialist experience highly desired.
Strong understanding of the DoD contract/acquisition processes, particularly from a small business perspective
Strong understanding of FAR, DFARS, and federal procurement practices
Experience in the DoD sole source process, justification and approval procedures, legal reviews
Exceptional attention to detail, with strong analytical and organizational skills
Effective written and verbal communication for interfacing with internal and external stakeholders
Teaching/Training ability/experience (we are looking for someone who is/seeks to be a thought leader in the field not just good at their job)
Ability to work in a high-security or classified environment if/when needed
U.S. citizenship required; existing clearance may be preferred for certain contracts
Education
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Government Contracts, Finance, or related field
Desired
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or Government Contracting
