Parker Tide is a small business in DC. We serve as a value-added partner to the government. We are seeking a Technical Editor to work with one of our clients onsite in Washington, DC.
Title: Technical Editor
Period of Performance: One year base and four option years.
Place of Performance: Washington, DC (Onsite)
Security: Public Trust
Salary: Depends on Experience.
Background.
One of Parler Tide’s clients is in the process of modernizing its talent management system. This requires the creation of new business process models and updates to the existing business process models to guide support personnel in servicing the agency’s workforce. These maps define the roles and responsibilities and the flow of the business processes. They are also used as analysis for integration of personnel processes with an HRIS.
Requirements
• Possesses superior writing skills and quality assurance expertise.
• Ensures continuity of voice throughout business process models.
• Proficient with iGrafx Business Processing Modeling (BPM) software.
• Proficient with Microsoft SharePoint tools and capabilities.
• Demonstrates outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
• 3 to 10 years’ experience as a Technical Editor.
• BA/BS or MA/MS degree.
Description
• Ability to provide guidance and direction for executive level projects implementing change management principles, business process development, business re- engineering, and performance measurement.
• Capability to manage projects of high complexity and to direct the completion of projects within estimated timeframes and resource constraints.
• Capable of assessing products and procedures for compliance with government standards, accounting principles, internal controls, and multi-tiered system application standards.
• Must be able to grasp interrelationships between financial management requirements and automated business solutions, considering the current system environment and the potential integration of added systems concurrently or later.
• Ability to coordinate all parties to tasks and review work products for completeness, quality, and adherence to customer requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret government policy, regulations, and directives, and to apply those interpretations directed by the Project Manager or designee, fully and legally to all activities.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with executive level personnel.
