Our Tactical Data Links (TDL) Test Flight (TGBC) Advanced Programs test team is searching for a mid-level System Administrator that can help us establish and maintain the necessary infrastructure to support multiple test programs supporting the United States Air Force's (USAF) premier TDL Developmental Test (DT) Team.

We are looking for people that have a strong system administration foundation and have the drive and motivation to learn all other required areas. Position responsibilities can span from customized test configurations to lab infrastructure support.

This position provides support for the 46 Test Squadron/TGBC at Eglin AFB and with travel to various offsite locations. This is NOT a remote position. This support includes the following:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) guidelines and USAF security updates.
  • Apply Risk Management Framework (RMF) controls and implement Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Benchmarks.
  • Manage the functionality and performance of AP lab hardware and software systems.
  • Build systems from Secure Host Baseline (SHB) images.
  • Perform program scripting in PowerShell to support system automation.
  • Create and manage system user accounts in accordance with policies and directives.
  • Employ local group policy management.
  • Install and configure application software.
  • Establish user environments and configure servers, clients, and storage hardware.
  • Perform operating system upgrades and data backups.
  • Develop solutions to complex problems requiring creativity and ingenuity.
  • Use approved system cloning applications or devices for testing.
  • Perform hardware diagnostic testing and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Document preventive maintenance actions, troubleshooting efforts, repairs, and related daily activities.
  • Conduct system troubleshooting and workstation maintenance.
  • Diagnose and resolve errors during test and distributed events.
  • Develop and document systems administration standard operating procedures.
  • Support DT enclave assessment and authorization in line with DoD and USAF instructions.
  • Support any additional test activities assigned by TGBC leadership.

Required Experience

Required Experience:
  • Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience:
    • Bachelor of Science Degree (or higher) in computer science, information technology or related discipline and minimum 3-8 years of relevant experience OR
    • Associate's Degree with a minimum of 7-12 years relevant experience OR
    • High School Diploma with 9-16 years of relevant experience
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and possess an active Secret clearance adjudicated within the past five years. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance
  • Excellent self-initiative and self-motivation
  • Superior organization, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to communicate and present technical details both written and verbally
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as individually without continuous direction (proactive)
  • Must have a current Security+ or equivalent certification
  • Experience with Windows OS's (i.e. Microsoft Windows 11, Windows 10), Group Policy, and Local Security Policy configuration is required
  • Recent experience building Linux systems proficient in troubleshooting IT hardware and software issues required
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite of Office applications to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Able to travel to contractors' facilities, test sites, and other locations, CONUS and OCONUS, up to 25% - 35% of the time
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.


Preferred Experience:
  • Understanding of fundamental networking concepts, including routing, switching, VLANs, and firewall management
  • Experience with Python for scripting, automation, and developing custom tools
  • Hands on experience with Security Enhanced Linux (SE Linux) for enforcing security policies on Linux systems
  • Experience in developing, deploying, and managing applications using Linux Docker containers, including creating Docker files and managing container orchestration
  • Possess current and active Top Secret security clearance.
