Operations Analyst Sr Advisor/Senior Operations SME (Mission Command Exercises)

Our work depends on an Operations Analyst Sr Advisor joining our team to lead the Special Operations Mission Training Center's Exercise Design Cell in updating and maintaining our current exercise scenario frameworks and to develop new exercise scenario frameworks to ensure that our SOF training is challenging and realistic. SOF units, both ARSOF and joint service, conduct essential pre-deployment training at the SOMTC and we assist them in Battle Staff training to enhance mission success and to reduce their risk to mission and risk to force.
HOW AN OPERATIONS ANALYST SR ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
• Provides military subject matter expertise to assigned programs
• Will coordinate with USSOCOM and subordinate unit HQ elements and staff(s) as
required to plan, prepare, and execute training.
• Will conduct coordination and/or planning events with applicable entities and representatives as required, to include SOMTC personnel, IAW the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) and establish
methods to track exercise planning and subsequent key tasks. Examples of these include, but are not limited to, planning conferences, concept development conference, working groups, and in progress reviews (IPRs).
• Will coordinate with all military Evaluation Teams designated to observe and report findings prior to, during, and after an MRX.
• Will design (framework), develop (content), script (interactions), and build (scenario) Mission Readiness Exercise(s) (MRXs) for United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC), 1st Special Forces Command (Airborne), and Joint Special Operations Forces including United States Naval Special Warfare Command and United States Air Force Special Operations Command.
• Shall create and maintain exercise SharePoint portal products and will provide exercise participants a Training Survey, approved by the SOMTC Director or their designated GS representative(s), upon completion an MRX.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
• Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science
• Required Experience: 10+ years of related experience. Assignment to Special Operations Forces (Special Forces, Military Information Support Operations, Civil Affairs, Ranger Regiment, Special Operations Aviation, Special Mission units), or assignment to one of the following: Military Intelligence, Logistics Corps, Field Artillery (Equivalent assignments within other Department of Defense military branches apply).
• Required Technical Skills: Graduate of U.S. Army Special Forces Qualifying Course (Officer
18A, Warrant Officer 180A, Noncommissioned Officer 18 series Military Occupation Specialties), Civil Affairs Qualifying Course, or Psychological Operations Qualification Course and a graduate of a U.S. military officer's intermediate course or Senior Service College, or Special Forces Warrant Officer Advanced Course, or from one of the following U.S. military Noncommissioned Officer
Education System course: First Sergeant Course or Sergeants Major Course.
• Security Clearance Level: Secret, Top Secret or Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance depending on the Government's needs. The COR will notify the Contractor when/if an individual requires an upgrade to a Top Secret or Top Secret /SCI clearance.
• Required Skills and Abilities: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, ability to read military Operational Plans (OPLANs), Rules of Engagement (ROE), and Tactical Directives in order to design effective training objectives. Must work well within a small cell of similarly qualified and experienced military veterans and civilians.
• Preferred Skills: Two years of experience researching, planning, preparing, coordinating, and executing Mission Readiness Exercises (MRXs).
