Introduction

We are seeking a skilled Non-Cloud System Administrator to join our team for the DevOps - System Development Services (DO-SDS) project. The successful candidate will work under the Enterprise Data Architect to support development and operational efforts, ensuring the management and optimization of non-cloud database systems, maintaining data integrity, performance, and availability.

What you will be doing

• Infrastructure Management: Manage and maintain non-cloud infrastructure, including physical servers, storage systems, and networking components.
• System Administration: Perform system administration tasks such as installation, configuration, and maintenance of non-cloud systems and applications.
• Database Management: Manage and optimize non-cloud database systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
• Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor the performance and availability of non-cloud systems, identify and resolve issues, and optimize resource utilization.
• Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain security best practices, including access controls, encryption, and compliance with data protection regulations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Enterprise Data Architect and development teams to ensure seamless integration of applications and services.
• Troubleshooting: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for non-cloud-related issues, including network connectivity, resource provisioning, and application performance.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of non-cloud infrastructure, configurations, and processes to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity.
• Training and Knowledge Transfer: Provide training and knowledge transfer to junior system administrators and other engineering teams on non-cloud infrastructure and system administration practices.

Location and Clearance Requirements

This is a remote position with occasional travel. Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance is required.

Required for this Opportunity

• Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in managing and maintaining non-cloud infrastructure and systems.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in system administration tasks, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of non-cloud systems and applications.
• Database Management: Strong knowledge of non-cloud database management systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
• Security: Experience implementing and maintaining security measures, including access controls and encryption.
• Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including data architects, developers, and IT staff.
• Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), or similar are preferred.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Nice To Have Skills

• Prior Treasury experience is a plus.
