Zachary Piper Solutions, LLC is a contractor in support of the federal government, specializing in cybersecurity operations, engineering, and compliance. This position is in support of a contract with the Department of Energy and the National Nuclear Security Agency OCIO. The NNSA has multiple offices and facilities across the United States, with its headquarters in Washington D.C. These offices and facilities are responsible for various aspects of nuclear security, including stockpile management, nonproliferation, and nuclear security.
The Network Engineer Tier 2 will design, implement, and maintain secure, high-performance network infrastructures to support organizational operations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot, optimize, and ensure the scalability and reliability of the network, while managing ongoing upgrades and security improvements
Clearance: Top Secret or Q

Responsibilities of the Network Engineer:
Network Engineer to work in Washington, DC. The candidate must have an active Top Secret clearance.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have excellent customer service skills complemented by an ability to listen to and interpret client requests
- Experience with Cisco Router and switch configuration (IOS/NX-OS), Palo Alto NextGen Firewall and VPN configuration experience, experience with General Dynamics Taclanes and/or GEMOne
- Technically proficient and experienced with Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems, network security, network traffic analysis, incident response, vulnerability analysis, packet analysis, and systems hardening.
- Possesses proficient knowledge of layer 2 switching and layer 3 routing protocols, encryption protocols, communication protocols. Examples include but not limited to: TLS/SSL, IPsec, SSH, BGP, VLAN, LLDP, LACP, ARP, 802.1x, DNS, AES, NTP, etc.
Qualifications of the Network Engineer:
- Candidate must have an active Top Secret or Q security clearance.
- Experience with Cisco Routers and Switches
- VPN/Security experience
- Ability to perform at specified level as we have Tier 2 and Tier 3 Openings
Compensation of the Network Engineer:
- Total compensation based on experience up to $150,000 - Direct-Hire (Can go higher for Tier 3)
