Systems Software Analyst

Position Description

Serco is seeking a System Software Analyst (SSA) to join our growing team of professionals supporting the Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. This exciting opportunity allows you to enhance military operational readiness by delivering expert Virtual 3D (V3D) Map operational support.

In this role, you will:

• Develop and maintain V3D Map operations standards and training operations for instructional classes.
• Implement partial V3D Map system life cycle processes including hardware installation and maintenance, software installation, software patching, and software configuration.
• Perform operational analysis of V3D Map systems supporting each MCTP Warfighter Exercise (WFX) to optimize performance.
• Analyze system capabilities against customer requirements and develop customized approaches.
• Participate in the development of logistics and personnel planning documents to fulfill MCTP Simulation Control Plans (SCP).
• Conduct systems integration testing using simulation-derived databases.
• Use or develop command line scripts and build software routines to improve technical processes.
• Perform vulnerability and security scans on systems and report results to appropriate stakeholders.
• Test and distribute V3D Map computer images required for exercises.
• Prepare V3D Map systems for shipping, installation, and operational support at exercise sites.
• Functionally operate V3D Map software during WFX events and provide technical support.
• Gather feedback from senior leadership to identify software improvements and relay this data for system enhancement.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 6 years of V3D Map operations experience and 3 years Mission Command Staff experience; or
• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of helpdesk, systems engineering, or systems administration experience and 3 years Mission Command Staff experience; or
• Master's degree with 0 years of helpdesk, systems engineering, or systems administration experience and 3 years Mission Command Staff experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience operating V3D Map at MCTP WFX events.
• Trainer or co-trainer experience for V3D Map instructional classes.
• Must achieve CompTIA Security+ CE certification within 6 months of employment.
• Must have an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
• Must be able to work on-site at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
• Must be able to travel as needed (up to 30% of the time).

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Ability to perform operational system analysis and provide tailored technical solutions.
• Experience operating V3D Map systems in live training environments.
• Proficiency with command line scripting and system optimization techniques.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Additional desired experience and skills:

• Experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux system engineering or administration.
• Ability to diagnose and correct RedHat Linux software configuration or compatibility issues.
• CompTIA A+, Security+, Network+, or CEH certifications.
• Knowledge of Army Mission Command operations and systems such as CPOF, CPCE, BCCS, TSI.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access, OneNote).
