Position Description

Serco is seeking a Principal Military Trainer - Exercise Support Planner to join our team at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, in support of the U.S. Army's Mission Command Training Program (MCTP). In this role, you will leverage your operational expertise to plan, coordinate, and execute all phases of military training exercises. You will guide exercise support deliverables, resource management, and contribute to exercise execution in support of Army Corps, Division, and Brigade-level mission readiness.

In this role, you will:
  • Serve as the primary Exercise Support Division (ESD) Exercise Support Planner (ESP).
  • Provide planning guidance to Principal Military Exercise Planners.
  • Ensure high-quality writing, publication, and delivery of Exercise Life Cycle Event contract deliverables (CDRLs).
  • Provide subject matter expertise on the Exercise Support Manning and Equipment Document (ESMED) and manage EPTMS manning requirements.
  • Maintain coordination with other Operations Groups Analysts and points of contact (POCs).
  • Support Simulation Control Plan (SCP) development and assist the SCP Lead in crafting supporting CDRLs.
  • Coordinate with Headquarters Support Team (HST) divisions to plan room configurations, equipment, and personnel needs for exercises.
  • Manage travel, lodging, and transportation logistics for HST contractors during exercise support periods.


Qualifications

Qualifications
  • One of the following:
    • High school diploma or GED with 9 years of professional and/or military leadership experience.
    • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of professional and/or military leadership experience.
    • Master's degree with 3 years of professional and/or military leadership experience.
  • Active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access).
  • Demonstrated ability to write at a college level using military writing styles.
  • Must be able to work onsite at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% and deploy to international locations as required.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to support training documentation and briefings.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Additional desired experience and skills:
  • Completion of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff Officer Course, Intermediate Level Education (ILE), or Military Education Level 4 (MEL 4).
  • Prior operational staff experience at a tactical or operational command level.
