Position Description

Serco is seeking a Principal Military Trainer - Exercise Support Planner to join our growing team of diverse professionals supporting the Army National Guard (ARNG) Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) at Fort Leavenworth in Kansas. This position is contingent upon contract award, budget, and customer approval.

In this role, you will:
  • Act as primary Exercise Support Division (ESD) Exercise Support Planner (ESP) and provide guidance to the Principal Military Exercise Planner.
  • Ensure timely writing, publishing, and delivery of Exercise Life Cycle Event contract deliverables (CDRL) while maintaining the highest quality by the team.
  • Provide guidance on the Exercise Support Manning and Equipment Document (ESMED) Manager.
  • Ensure the manning requirements for the Exercise Planning Travel Management System (EPTMS) are met.
  • Maintain habitual relationships with other Operations Groups Analysts and Points of Contact (POCs).
  • Serve as the ESP/Assistant ESP in the Simulation Control Plan (SCP) and coordinate with the SCP Lead in the development of CDRLs.
  • Work with other Divisions within the Headquarters Support Team (HST) to develop room builds and determine equipment and personnel needs for each exercise.
  • Manage the movement of all HST contractors supporting an exercise, including synchronizing travel, lodging, and transportation dates.


Qualifications

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 10 years of professional and/or military leadership experience; or
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6 years of professional and/or military leadership experience; or
  • Master's degree with a minimum of 4 years of professional and/or military leadership experience.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to work on-site at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Ability to deploy to various countries, as required, in support of U.S. military operations.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite of software (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access).
  • Strong writing skills at a college level, with experience in military writing style.

Additional desired experience and skills:
  • Completion of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff Officer Course or Military Education Level 4 (MEL 4) equivalent Intermediate Level Education (ILE).
  • Experience serving in an Operational Staff.
