Position Description

Serco is seeking a Simulation Technician Scenario Generation (SGEN) and After Action Review System (AARS) Computer Systems Analyst to join our growing team of diverse professionals supporting the Army National Guard (ARNG) Mission Command Training Support Program (MCTSP) at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) in Washington. This position is contingent upon contract award, budget, and customer approval.

In this role, you will:
  • Create and modify simulation scenarios using government fielded hardware and software systems.
  • Research needed data from archival sources, online sources, or exercise planners.
  • Conduct briefings with military and civilian personnel on scenario build timelines, data requirements, and status updates.
  • Construct instructional material and conduct classes on reviewing scenario data content.
  • Perform installation of computer hardware and software necessary for scenario development.
  • Perform regular backups of software and scenario data.
  • Follow all applicable Department of Defense (DoD) Information Assurance (IA) protocols.
  • Maintain DoD security technical implementation guides (STIGs) and system patches.
  • Maintain proficiency in systems administration, military simulations, and stimulation of tactical systems.
  • Leverage broad technical understanding of virtual simulation systems.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Brief leaders and distinguished guests on system capabilities.
  • Train other operators and technicians on scenario generation processes.
  • Develop unique scenarios to meet evolving mission requirements.


Qualifications

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 6 years of experience in Computer Science (CS), Information Technology (IT), Cybersecurity, or Information Assurance (IA); or
  • Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, Cybersecurity, or IA with a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or
  • Master's degree in CS, IT, Cybersecurity, or IA.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • DoD IAT Level II Certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE).
  • Ability to meet all required training for DoD computing environments within 6 months of hire.
  • Understanding of military unit hierarchy, tables of organization and equipment, unit identification codes, and reference numbers.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows 10 and higher, RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 6 and above), and TCP/IP network environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to work on-site at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington.
  • Ability to travel as needed (up to 10% of the time).
  • Ability to support shifts outside normal working hours to support 24/7 operations.
  • Ability to lift and move computer equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to reposition above and below desks/tables to facilitate equipment setup.

Additional desired experience and skills:
  • Prior experience creating simulation scenarios in Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability (JLCCTC).
  • Prior experience configuring and operating JLCCTC hardware and software for U.S. Army training exercises.

In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary range for this role is $81,300.00 to $121,900.00 ; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
