Position Description
Join Serco as a Military Trainer - Deployable Training Team (DTT) Exercise Planner supporting our Joint Staff J7, Joint Training, Deployable Training Division (DTD) operations. In this role, you will help deliver individual, staff, and collective joint training aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness of both current and future joint forces.
You will support DTTs that conduct joint and multi-national training, exercises, and staff assist visits (SAVs), primarily with Combatant Commands and Joint Task Forces. This position requires strong familiarity with military organizations, the ability to conduct electronic research, and mastery of information sharing tools.

You will support DTTs that conduct joint and multi-national training, exercises, and staff assist visits (SAVs), primarily with Combatant Commands and Joint Task Forces. This position requires strong familiarity with military organizations, the ability to conduct electronic research, and mastery of information sharing tools.
In this role, you will:
- Assist DTT Lead OTs and Supporting ATs with travel, lodging, transportation, and compliance planning for deployments.
- Develop exercise and event-related resources such as DTT collection plans and portal pages.
- Support administrative functions including IT access, credentialing, and ensuring necessary documentation for access and travel.
- Provide in-field support to DTTs as needed to enhance readiness and effectiveness.
- Serve as a functional expert in planning and conceptualizing joint and combined military exercises.
- Consult with military clients on training and doctrine development.
- Design and deliver exercise materials including Scenarios, Road-to-Crisis (RTC), Adversary Campaign Plans, Operational Environment (OE) Overviews, and Master Scenario Event Lists (MSEL).
- Coordinate deadlines and product development throughout the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC).
- Attend and support exercise planning conferences and functional events globally.
- Serve as a functional team member during execution of global joint training events.
Qualifications

- High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 7 years of professional and/or military leadership experience; or
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of professional and/or military leadership experience; or
- Master's degree with a minimum of 1 year of professional and/or military leadership experience.
- At least 1 year of experience as a commissioned officer, non-commissioned officer, or DoD civilian equivalent.
- Willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time, both CONUS and OCONUS.
- Active U.S. DoD Secret security clearance.
- Valid U.S. Passport or ability to obtain one.
- Ability to work on-site in Suffolk, VA.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience supporting military training exercises and deployments.
- Proven organizational skills with attention to logistical and administrative detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and information sharing platforms.
- Ability to operate independently and effectively within diverse teams.
- Experience supporting senior-level military leadership and complex operational environments.
Additional desired experience and skills:
- Experience operating military simulation models.
- Background with Combatant Command Headquarters or Joint Staff J7.
- Familiarity working with senior military or government personnel.
