Potomac Haven seeks a skilled Electronics Technician to support classroom training requirements at the U.S. Coast Guard Training Center (TRACEN) in Petaluma, California. This position involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and calibrating various electronic hardware, including transceivers, radar, and RF equipment, as well as supporting simulation systems and associated technology.

Requirements

Job Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electronics hardware such as HF/VHF transceivers, Surface Search Radar, patch panels, audio/video/data systems, and RF equipment
- Perform maintenance on communication towers, including climbing as needed to service equipment
- Use and troubleshoot using electronic test equipment such as Analog and Digital Meters, Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, Frequent Counters, Watt Meters, Communications Analyzers (IFR), Fox and Hound (analog phone line testers), Network Data Analyzers, Time Domain Reflectometers (TDR), Signal Analyzers and High-Voltage Insulation Testers (Megger)
- Set up and dismantle classroom electronics hardware including: HF/VHF/UHF Transceivers, Digital Voice Data Loggers, Patch Panels, Sound-Powered Phones, TA-970 Remote Handsets, Surface Search Radars, AV Equipment, Police and Fire Scanners, Marquee Signs, Video Projectors, Remote Cameras, HF/VHF Simulators, Guard Receivers, Cryptographic Equipment, VOIP systems
- Calibrate and troubleshoot various control components and systems, including radar and telecommunications systems, command and control interfaces, and simulator platforms
Job Requirements
- US Citizenship Required
- Active DoD Secret Clearance Required
- Experience working with electronics hardware and equipment as listed above
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics
- Excellent technical documentation and presentation skills
- Strong collaboration and teamwork abilities
- High attention to detail and accountability
- Capable of working independently and managing priorities
- Experience in client interaction and requirement gathering
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, stakeholders, and team members
- Must be able to ascend/descend ladders and work at heights as required for tower maintenance
- Must be physically capable of positioning and handling equipment installations
