Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Resident Network Engineer to join a Federal Program located in Fort Meade, MD. The Resident Network Engineer will be required to develop and maintain an expertise on the Juniper products deployed within the network.

Responsibilities of the Resident Network Engineer:
- Serve as SME on Juniper products and technologies.
- Understand the customer's organizational structure, become familiar with customer's network implementation, and support procedures and help drive to the highest level of network availability.
- Carry out testing of new designs, features, and functionality in a laboratory environment and help develop implementation plans to ensure proper operation in live production network.
- Validate patches and fixes to operating system software that ensure they are implemented and functioning correctly in pre-production, test, and live networks.
- Troubleshoot equipment and network problems and initiate and track JTAC cases through to problem resolution.
- Hold network information gathering workshops with the customer to understand their existing network design and technical requirements for new network deployments.
Qualifications of the Resident Network Engineer:
- Minimum 5 years experience providing implementation and technical support of networking products in Internet Service Provider environments.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain and maintain an U.S. Government Active Secret Clearance
- Detailed technical experience in the installation and operation of routers, switches, and firewalls. This includes hands-on operation of management tools and network analyzers.
- Detailed understanding of the service provider protocols surrounding IP networks (TCP/IP, RSVP, Segment Routing, etc.)
- Main platforms focus: EX, MX, SRX, and QFX products
- Experience in network routing protocol troubleshooting (BGP, IS-IS, and MPLS).
- Experience in Service Provider backbone VPN technologies (L2VPN, L3VPN, EVPN, pseudowire, etc.)
- Experience with Software Defined Networking (SDN).
- Hands-on configuration and operational knowledge of Juniper products.
Compensation of the Resident Network Engineer:
- Salary Range: $160,000 - $200,000 *flexible based on experience*
