Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Juniper Network Engineer to join a Federal Program located in Ft. Meade, MD . The Network Engineer will provide post-sales on-site support of Juniper Network products.
Responsibilities of the Juniper Network Engineer include:
· Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on Juniper products and related technologies.
· Gain a deep understanding of the customer's organizational structure and network setup to support operational procedures and maximize network uptime.
· Perform lab testing of new network designs, features, and functionalities, and assist in creating deployment plans for seamless integration into production environments.
· Assess and verify software patches and updates to ensure proper functionality across test, pre-production, and live network environments.
· Diagnose hardware and network issues, manage JTAC support cases, and follow through to resolution.
· Regularly compile and deliver written reports summarizing design initiatives, equipment performance, and network issues to the customer.
· Conduct workshops with the customer to gather information on current network architecture and define technical requirements for new deployments.
· Provide training to the customer's teams on configuring and managing Juniper Networks solutions.
· Collaborate with peers in similar roles to share insights and reduce risks during major network upgrades or changes.
· Expand expertise in additional technologies present within the customer's network environment.
Qualifications for the Juniper Network Engineer include:
· Active Secret Clearance with over 5 years of experience supporting and implementing networking solutions in large-scale service provider environments.
· Expertise in Juniper platforms (EX, MX, SRX, QFX) with hands-on configuration, operational knowledge, and strong troubleshooting skills in routing protocols (BGP, IS-IS, MPLS) and VPN technologies (L2VPN, L3VPN, EVPN).
· Strong technical foundation in IP networking, service provider protocols (TCP/IP, RSVP, Segment Routing), SDN, and Unix/Linux systems, with experience using network analyzers and management tools.
· Effective communicator and team player, capable of proactive problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and delivering customer-focused solutions.
· Certifications and technical growth: JNCIP/JNCIE, CCNP/CCIE preferred; automation and scripting experience (e.g., Python) considered a strong plus.
Compensation for the Juniper Network Engineer includes:
· Salary Range: $160,000 - $215,000 depending on experience
