General Function:
  • Assist with technical requirements for procurement, modification, and performance of training systems.
  • Provide technical input for program requirements and review contractor technical activities related to training devices.
  • Support training system analysis, development planning, risk mitigation, and hardware/software integration.
  • Aid in acceptance testing and information assurance certification/accreditation processes.
  • Assist with integration of visual, radar, infrared/electro-optic, and tactical environment systems and databases.
  • Provide support in flight systems and flight dynamics modeling and design.
  • Assist with networking and distributed mission operations for training devices.
  • Support technical and systems engineering, cost estimation, and simulation system concurrency tracking.
  • Act as a PMO liaison during test events and simulation certifications (simcerts).
  • Assist with information assurance tasks for training device certification and accreditation.
  • Support concurrency management efforts including issue investigation, requirement definition, budgeting, and purchase description development.
  • Aid in developing test plans, procedures, and aircraft data collection for aeronautical engineering support.
  • Apply industry and military standards to define and enforce flight simulator requirements.
  • Assist in planning and organizing engineering efforts related to simulation and training systems.
  • Provide human factors engineering support for evaluating new technologies and processes in Training Systems Requirements Analysis (TSRA).
  • Support courseware development and engineering efforts within simulation environments.
  • Recognized as highly skilled with advanced knowledge and experience in their technical/professional field, with the ability to apply relevant standards, procedures, and practices.
  • Oversees and guides junior and journeyman personnel, providing expert support across Program Office, Enterprise, and Staff-level interfaces.

Qualifications:

Education/Certifications/Experience/Skills:
  • MA/MS Degree with 10 years of directly related experience or BA/BS with 12 years of directly related experience or 15 years of directly related experience to this discipline.
  • Must possess and maintain a government security clearance at the Secret Level.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications and other standard applications.
