Northrop Grumman is one of the industry leaders in Stealth Technology. As such, we are involved in all phases of development, production, and maintenance of Low Observable (LO) platforms. We are currently looking for Low Observable / Radar Cross Section (RCS) /Survivability Engineers to work on exciting and challenging projects.
This position is to be filled by a Senior Staff Survivability Engineer based on the qualifications listed below. The position may be in Melbourne, FL, Rancho Bernardo, CA, or Dayton, OH.
A successful candidate will have broad knowledge and technical experience with Avionics and Antennas radar cross section analysis and predictions. Candidate is expected to operate independently with little oversight in a dynamic environment, to be highly self-motivated, reporting information to Integrated Program Team (IPT) leads and the customer.
Core Competencies:
• Experience with 2-D modeling for 2-D RCS prediction codes
• Experience with 3-D CAD modeling (CATIA, NX) for 3-D RCS prediction codes
• Ability to prepare and execute RCS prediction codes
• Understanding of Advanced Survivable Avionics and Antenna design
• Understanding of electrical and magnetic properties of survivability materials
• Review and analysis of simulated RCS data
• Ability to generate presentations and reports, communicate effectively, and
lead a team of engineers
Basic Qualifications:
• Education
o Senior Staff Systems Architect: Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in STEM discipline AND 14+ years of related professional experience in Engineering, OR a Master of Science degree AND 12+ years of related professional experience in Engineering, OR a PhD AND 10+ years of related professional experience in Engineering
• Must have strong experience and/or knowledge in signature reduction technology integration, RCS design, analysis, and/or testing with applicable material selections
• Must be willing and able to work independently while mentoring junior engineers
• Your ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated DoD Top Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficiency in RF modeling and testing at an indoor/outdoor RCS/RF test facil
ity
• Strong interpersonal communication and technical writing skills to enable ef
fective personal interaction and collaboration with a multi-disciplined team and
customers
• Ability to work with internal support organizations such as Global Supply Chain
and Security
• Programming experience in C++, MATLAB, Python, or other highly technical
languages
• Ability to use CAE and/or FEA tools (i.e. FMS, Patran, Cubit, etc.)
• Strong knowledge and ability with RCS data processing tools, such as
Knowbell, SABER, or Pioneer
• Active/Current Special Program Access (SAP)
Salary Range: $203,100.00 - $243,700.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
