Overview

SOSi is currently looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to join our team in Camp Humphrey's, Korea. The Systems Engineering team creates computer and storage server designs for USINDOPACOM services. Our designs are secure, reliable, and resilient in the ability to support USINDOPACOM mission and its 5000+ customers throughout the Pacific theater. Our engineers solve challenging technical problems with architecturally unique solutions that enable USINDOPACOM to realize critical C2 strategies. The team develops systems to ensure that every piece of server hardware in our catalog is healthy and manageable and builds software that interfaces with hundreds of cutting-edge embedded systems theater-wide. We are seeking experienced Systems Design and Development Engineers to support the next generation of our cloud platforms.

Essential Job Duties

As a member of the Systems Engineering team, will provide technology leadership and be responsible for leading the design and development of server products utilizing a wide range of design and manufacturing partners. Work closely with our mission partners to understand their operational objectives and help define technical product requirements. Interact with engineers and mission stakeholders across the DoD and work with an interdisciplinary team to execute design, test, certification and integration into final products and spearhead product deployments to datacenters around the world.

This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position that demands high standards for successful hire, and everyone worked with and will be constantly looking for ways to improve products performance, quality, and cost. We are changing industry and want individuals who are ready for this challenge.

Private cloud services represent most of the growth in the overall IT services market and will continue to do so for several years to come. The scale, combined with an understanding of how our platform is used, creates a unique opportunity for platform customizations that will directly benefit mission partners. The contract has many unique services, both big and small, which power both large multinational coalition partners and smaller, more niche partners. These services run on hardware around the world. We continually need to deploy newer, innovative, and more efficient and cost-effective hardware. The work will drive efficiency and significant cost savings while improving the performance and reliability of our products and services as well as touch development teams and customers around the world.

This work is performed directly with engineers and product owners across the company to build and improve next-generation data center infrastructure. This work will have a direct impact on our mission success and the ability to deliver improvements for our mission partners. The successful candidate will be part of a growing, fast-paced, and exciting team. The successful candidate will have ownership for the implementation of their work.

Minimum Requirements

  • An Active in-scope TOP SECRET clearance with SCI Eligibility and US Passport.
  • Bachelors degree in IT, Information Systems, Cyber Security, Computer Engineering or similar and 5+ years of experience, or 9+ years of experience in enterprise IT systems engineering and operations involving complex classified DoD environments and mandatory security controls (e.g., STIGs).
  • 5+ years implementation and support in server administration. Extensive experience with Microsoft or Linux enterprise services portfolio (Exchange, Active Directory, DNS/BIND, DHCP, SQL, etc). Prior experience in implementing and supporting DoD secure systems environments.
  • DoD 8570 IAT-II compliant (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP)
  • Server Administration (Microsoft or Linux+) certification at hire.
  • Obtain Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator or Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) within 6 months of hire.
  • Experience with Hyperconverged Infrastructure (Nutanix preferred)
  • Experience with NSA CSfC requirements including Multi-Site Connectivity Capability Package (MSCCP) and Mobile Access Capability Package (MACP).
  • Experience with Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) and/or US BICES Trusted Network Environment (TNE)
  • Customer-service oriented with a willingness to participate and assist.
  • Able to follow instructions and work both independently and in a (distributed) team environment.
  • Team-player. Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Attention to detail. Excellent planning and time-management skills.
  • Able to support 24/7 operations (including support to exercises), when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator or Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) certification.
  • Additional IT certifications in relevant technology platform (e.g., Network+, Citrix, Dell, HPE/Aruba, ITIL, Juniper, Microsoft, Nutanix, Palo Alto, VMware).
  • Experience with Forcepoint/Everfox Trusted Thin Client.
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA).
  • Familiarity with VDI/Virtual Environments and solutions (VMware Horizon, Citrix VDI)
  • Familiarity with Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI), Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) and C2 applications.
  • Experience in ITIL framework and best practices (e.g., Change Management, Configuration Management, Capacity Planning)
  • Experience using Help Desk software (e.g., Jira, Remedy, ServiceNow).

Work Environment

  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
  • Fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • May require foreign travel and site visits.
  • May require periods of non-traditional working hours including consecutive nights or weekends.
