ISP/OSP Technician (contract, on-site Hawaii)

Position Overview: The Inside Plant/Outside Plant (ISP/OSP) Technician is responsible for supporting Operations & Maintenance activities, managing and troubleshooting trouble tickets, service orders, and break/fix tasks across all military locations. This role requires expertise in both inside plant (ISP) and outside plant (OSP) telecommunications infrastructure, ensuring reliable service delivery and network integrity.
Additionally, technicians will support future work requirements involving inside building operations and fieldwork, including OSP facilities such as Permit-Required Confined Spaces (PRCS) Maintenance Holes (MH) and Aerial Poles.

Working conditions: Combined office and field setting with time split between computer work and on-site inspections. May require on-call availability for critical service disruptions. Must be available to work on the island of Hawaii. Work will be performed at various facilities and field locations. Travel within and around the base may be required, including outdoor work in various weather conditions when inspecting outside plant infrastructure.

- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on ISP/OSP telecommunications infrastructure.
- Ensure network reliability and service continuity across military locations.
- Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance to mitigate service disruptions.
Trouble Ticket & Service Order Management:
- Manage and troubleshoot trouble tickets, service orders, and break/fix activities.
- Utilize CAIRs or Remedy ticketing systems to track and resolve issues efficiently.
- Establish priorities based on service impact and resolution timeframes.
Field & PRCS Work Requirements:
- Support inside building operations and outside fieldwork related to OSP facilities.
- Perform tasks involving Permit-Required Confined Spaces (PRCS) Maintenance Holes (MH) and Aerial Poles.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards for confined space entry and aerial work.

Requirements
- U.S. citizen with ability to obtain SECRET clearance
- Associate or bachelors degree in telecommunications, electronics, or related field preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in ISP/OSP infrastructure support
- Experience with CAIRs or Remedy ticketing systems
- Knowledge of PRCS safety protocols, aerial pole work, and OSP infrastructure
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience with military telecommunications systems preferred
