Saab, Inc., is seeking a Senior Security Professional to join our team in Syracuse, NY. The Senior Security Professional is responsible for supporting the development and administration of security plans and operations of the Saab, Inc and assisting in the development of organizational policies and procedures. The right individual should be well organized with the ability to thrive in fast-paced high-stress situations.
Key Responsibilities:
Risk Mitigation: Analyze and assess diverse security risks and associated policies. Develop strategies for reducing vulnerabilities and enhancing security protocols across all areas of the organization.
Policy Development & Compliance: Create and update security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards, federal regulations, and internal company guidelines. Perform self-inspections and participate in government Continuous Monitoring reviews and on-site inspections. Advise leadership on security risks and provide strategies for mitigation. Develop, coordinate and implement security education, training and awareness programs.
Investigations: Lead and conduct internal investigations on security incidents, in line with legal and sponsor requirements. Provide recommendations for corrective actions based on findings. Maintain accurate records of incidents and investigations in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Collaboration with Authorities: Coordinate with local police, fire departments, emergency responders, and other security agencies as necessary to address and resolve security-related issues.
Security Clearance and Policy Coordination: For organizations with government contracts, maintain DoD program compliance as it pertains to responsibilities, requirements and obligations associated with holding a Facility Clearance (FCL), to include but not limited to secure area oversight, personnel clearance program, and classified contract management.
Qualifications:
Experience & Knowledge:
At least 5 years of experience in security management, physical security, counterintelligence, policy development, and compliance.
Experience in developing and implementing security strategies and risk management programs.
Must possess an active TS security clearance
Working knowledge working with a security system of record in coordination with DISS, NISS, NBIS, and other government security systems of record
Proficient knowledge of the NISPOM and ability to interpret government policy (NISPOM, ICD, SEAD, etc.)
Experience with or knowledge of Foreign Ownership Control and Influence and Special Security Agreements
Experience providing briefings to large audience and Executive Leadership
Must possess strong oral and written communication skills
Expected to produce and deliver finished documentation, e.g., reports, special studies, policy and procedures, security designs, training programs and assessments for use across a program, facility or the organization.
Must be self-motivated and recognize time-sensitive risks and act decisively
Compensation Range: $78,900 - $98,600
Education:
A Bachelor’s degree. Alternatively, a Master’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience, or a PhD without experience, may be considered.
Extensive related experience in the field may be considered in leu of the above education requirements.

Advanced Knowledge & Application: Ability to apply broad and in-depth professional knowledge to resolve complex security issues and develop new policies and procedures. Proficient in creative problem-solving and offering solutions that align with organizational objectives.
Complexity & Judgment: Ability to work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of information requires evaluation of data and risk factors. Devises solutions based on limited information and precedent and adapts existing approaches to resolve issues. Uses evaluation, judgment and interpretation to select appropriate methods and techniques for addressing multifaceted security issues. Work is done independently and is reviewed at critical points.
Collaboration & Influence: Proven ability to enhance relationships and network with senior partners internal and external who are not familiar with the subject matter often requiring persuasion. Adapts style to differing audiences and often advise others on difficult security matters.
