Contract Position

Join a team dedicated to designing and producing armored combat and support vehicles. As a prime mover in ground force capabilities, this firm provides innovative solutions that ensure the safety and effectiveness of military personnel worldwide, focusing on durability, mobility, and performance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and support embedded software across the full development lifecycle for a new ground combat vehicle platform.
- Design, configure, and migrate to a new software development environment used for creating documentation, code, and test artifacts.
- Create and maintain requirements, design, architecture documentation, and test procedures.
- Develop and test embedded software for systems such as board support, displays, power management, lethality, diagnostics, training, and software deployment.
- Analyze software requirements and design preliminary and detailed software architectures.
- Write high-quality code conforming to department standards and implement designs using C, C++, Python, and other supported tools.
- Conduct unit, functional, and integration testing, and debug issues across multiple test phases.
- Interface and collaborate with Systems Engineering, Project Management, and Software Quality teams.
- Lead Agile Scrum ceremonies including daily standups, PI Planning, retrospectives, and demonstrations.
- Contribute to vehicle-wide software integration across multiple software components.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree (M.S.) in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline required.
- 7-10+ years of experience in embedded software development or a related role.
- Ability to Obtain Secret Clearance
- Proficiency in programming languages and tools such as C, C++, Java, C#, Python, GIT, and Bitbucket.
- Experience with mixed operating systems (e.g., VxWorks, Linux, RTOS, GVOS, Virtualization, and BSPs).
- Skilled in serial and network protocols including RS-232/422, CAN, TCP/IP, and UDP/IP.
- Familiarity with middleware technologies such as DDS, Kafka, and other Pub/Sub systems.
- Experience working with TSN (Time Sensitive Networking) architectures and ground vehicle data models (NGVA, UKGVA).
- Understanding of combat vehicle network architecture and standards such as GCIA, MOSA, SOSA, and FACE.
- Practical experience using Agile methodologies and associated tools.
- Must be able to work occasional evening and/or weekend overtime as needed.
- Desired Qualifications:
- Prior experience in the defense industry.
- Familiarity with hypervisors (Type 1/2), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and IoT concepts.
- Experience with system modeling tools like Cameo Systems Modeler.
- Network experience including multicast communications.
- Exposure to DDS and transport layer protocols (UDP/TCP).
- Continuous improvement mindset and process optimization experience.
