Software Engineer
Country Intelligence Group is seeking a Full-Time Software Engineer to support our client in the development and optimization of complex software systems in Amentum, Georgia. The selected candidate will design, implement, and maintain scalable software solutions, lead development efforts, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet mission-critical performance standards. The candidate will develop and enhance software by analyzing system requirements, implementing algorithms, optimizing databases, and modifying existing systems for improved functionality. Responsibilities also include writing and reviewing technical documentation and contributing to software testing and validation.
Tasks Performed:
• Write or review software and system documentation.
• Serve as team lead at the level appropriate to the software development process being used on any particular project.
• Design or implement complex database or data repository interfaces/queries.
• Develop or implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards.
• Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components.
• Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, confer with users or system engineers; analyze systems flow, data usage and work processes; and investigate problem areas.
• Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance.
• Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
• Minimum high school diploma/GED with at least 11 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or computer science with at least 7 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a high-performing, fast-paced, CI/CD environment.
• Experience developing back-end services in Python.
• Experience writing web user interfaces.
• Experience with web service API development (e.g. ReST).
• Experience developing applications for network connected databases (e.g. elastic).
• Experience validating capabilities against requirements, writing and executing test cases, and capturing test results.
• Experience working with dynamic and/or interactive map software. (Preferred)
• Experience with Linux / Unix command-line. (Preferred)
• Experience with Agile development. (Preferred)
• Experience with Python. (Preferred)
• Experience with Java, Javascript, and/or HTML. (Preferred)
• Experience with Active MQ. (Preferred)
• Experience with NoSQL, elastic databases, or similar. (Preferred)
• Experience with Jira. (Preferred)
• Experience with Confluence, SharePoint, or similar. (Preferred)
